Prior's Court Foundation
Supporting the governance and long-term development of a specialist charity dedicated to enabling autistic young people with the highest levels of need to live happier, healthier and more independent lives.
Prior's Court, Hermitage, West Berkshire.
After more than three years as a trustee, I became Chair of the Board of Trustees of Prior’s Court Foundation on 1 January 2026.
Founded by Dame Stephanie Shirley CH, Prior’s Court provides specialist education and residential care for autistic young people with the highest levels of need. Its work combines highly individualised support with a continuing commitment to learning, research and the development of better practice.
My service as a trustee has included strategic and governance oversight during a significant period of leadership transition. I succeeded the late Chris Barrett DL as Chair following seven years of dedicated leadership. My present focus is on supporting and constructively challenging the executive team, strengthening the Board and helping Prior’s Court prepare for its next phase of development while remaining faithful to Dame Stephanie’s founding vision.
A fuller account of this work, its context and its impact will be added as the story develops and supporting material is assembled.
