This website is run by Dr Stefan Fafinski. For the purposes of UK data protection law, I am the controller of personal information collected through it.

If you contact me using the contact form, I collect your name, email address, any organisation you identify, the subject of your enquiry and the information included in your message. I use that information only to consider and respond to your enquiry, continue the correspondence where appropriate and maintain an appropriate record of it. Please do not use the form to send confidential information or other sensitive material.

A contact-form submission is sent to my email account and is not retained in WordPress. I keep correspondence only for as long as it is reasonably needed for the enquiry, any continuing relationship and appropriate legal or administrative record-keeping. Information that is no longer required is deleted periodically.

The lawful basis for processing correspondence is my legitimate interest in receiving and responding to enquiries connected with the subjects and activities covered by this website. Information may also be processed where necessary to comply with a legal obligation.

Limited technical information, including IP address, browser and device details, access times and requested pages, may be processed by the website hosting provider where necessary to deliver, maintain and secure the website. I rely on my legitimate interests in operating and protecting the website for this processing.

The contact form is protected by Google reCAPTCHA. When the contact page is loaded or the form is used, the browser connects to Google. Google may process technical and interaction information, and may use cookies or similar technologies, to distinguish genuine users from automated activity.

The website uses Adobe Fonts. When a page is displayed, the browser connects to Adobe’s font-delivery service. Adobe receives the IP address needed to deliver the font, although Adobe states that it does not store that address or set cookies when serving fonts to websites.

Some pages contain interactive maps produced using Google My Maps. When a page containing a map is loaded or the map is used, the browser connects to Google. Google may receive technical and usage information and may place or access cookies.

Google and Adobe operate internationally, so information may be processed outside the United Kingdom. Their privacy information explains the safeguards and legal mechanisms used for international transfers.

I do not use personal information collected through this website for marketing, sell it or share it for unrelated commercial purposes. Information may be disclosed where required by law or to hosting, email and other service providers acting as necessary to operate and secure the website.

Depending on the circumstances, you may have rights to access, correct or erase your personal information, restrict its use or object to its processing. Questions or requests concerning personal information can be submitted through the contact page.

You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.

This website does not use analytics, advertising or marketing cookies.

WordPress and the website hosting service may use cookies or similar technologies where strictly necessary for security, administration and the basic operation of the website. WordPress also uses cookies for signed-in administrators; these do not apply to ordinary visitors.
