It all joins up

I am a lawyer, technologist, author and public servant. My working life has moved across science, technology, law, education and civil society, with a continuing interest in how systems work, how decisions are made and how organisations can create positive change.

I began my career as a software engineer and went on to lead international technology teams and professional services operations. Since 2006, I have worked independently across law, technology, governance and organisational strategy, including assignments for the Home Office and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime. From 2019 to 2022, I co-founded and chaired Sekura.id, a digital identity and mobile fraud-detection company. That commercial and technical experience continues to inform my work in justice, charitable governance and public service.

I currently serve as an Independent Panel Chair with the Parole Board for England and Wales and as a Deputy Lieutenant of the Royal County of Berkshire. I am Chair of the Board of Trustees of Prior’s Court Foundation and the Inside Out Trust, Deputy Editor of the International Review of Law, Computers & Technology, and a former Chair of the WCIT Charity. I am also an independent member of the Community and Voluntary Service Honours Committee.
